ADT Security Services, the world’s largest provider of electronic security services, announced today that it has received U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) approval for a Mentor-Protégé relationship with SecureXperts, headquartered in Smyrna, Ga.
Mentor-Protégé programs in the federal government help small businesses compete for contract awards by partnering with larger companies. DHS approved the Mentor-Protégé agreement between ADT, which has been DHS SAFETY Act certified since 2007, and SecureXperts for mutually beneficial contracting opportunities across various DHS agencies. The two companies have already begun collaborating on several business opportunities in the government arena.
“The DHS Mentor-Protégé distinction signifies an important milestone in the growth and development of our relationship with SecureXperts,” said John Gaydos, vice president of ADT Federal Systems. “Combining ADT’s size and experience with the technologies and expertise of SecureXperts can result in enhanced offerings to the customer in DHS, Department of Defense (DOD), intelligence community and other organizations that protect our nation.”
Under terms of the agreement, ADT will provide business management guidance to SecureXperts, which is a minority-owned small business. SecureXperts will continue providing ADT with IT information security/cyber security; secure encrypted video surveillance applications, identity management and Public Key Infrastructure PKI integrated solutions and services.
Darnell Washington, president and chief executive officer of SecureXperts, said, “SecureXperts has built a solid relationship with ADT and sees synergies with both our companies that can extend beyond the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to other markets such as education, healthcare, federal, state and local governments, commercial/industrial and potentially even residential applications.”
The Mentor-Protégé program is designed to motivate and encourage large-business prime contractor firms to provide mutually beneficial development assistance to small businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, HUBZone small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses and women-owned small businesses.
